Save the date: Freeform Tradition Prepares Preview for September 2026

The next full edition of the Freeform Tradition Festival will take place in 2027, but audiences won’t have to wait that long for the next instalment. In September 2026, the festival will present a special preview event in Berlin, designed as a precursor to the main event.

Designed as a space for research, networking and prototyping, the Preview will bring together musicians from a variety of cultural backgrounds. At its core is a collaborative experiment: participating artists will develop a short shared set, placing their distinct practices in dialogue with one another.

Alongside these collaborations, the programme will include listening sessions, work-in-progress performances and discussions, offering insight into the creative processes behind the festival's evolving format.Further details will be announced in the coming months.
